DAVIS FACTOR
Davis Factor, the great-grandson of legendary cosmetics pioneer Max Factor, grew up surrounded by Hollywood and beauty. He studied photography and graduated with a BFA from the prestigious Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, CA, where he has also taught.  Throughout his life, Davis has been a photographer, entrepreneur, creative visionary and philanthropist.

PHOTOGRAPHER / DIRECTOR

Davis has photographed and filmed many of the world’s most recognizable personalities from music, film and fashion. He’s lensed global campaigns for major cosmetic, fragrance and fashion brands, directed art and music films and has shot international editorial features and covers for Condé Nast.

SMASHBOX 
In 1990 Davis and Dean Factor created Smashbox Studios and in 1996 launched Smashbox Cosmetics. In 2002 Photogencis Media was launched, an in house talent agency. From 2003 – 2008, Smashbox Studios held Mercedes Benz Fashion Week in partnership with IMG. Davis is currently the Chief Creative Worldwide of Smashbox Cosmetics and is involved in brand development, creative advertising, partner relationships and travels worldwide as the ambassador of the brand.

AWARDS
Davis Factor and his Smashbox team have earned 4 Clio Awards for their innovative and engaging campaigns. In 2015, Davis Factor’s campaign for fashion brand Thomas Wylde starring Poppy Delevingne was voted one of the years top campaigns by Harper’s Bazaar and Elle magazines.

PHILANTHROPY
Davis Factor is on the board of The Max Factor Family Foundation, one of the longest running foundations in Los Angeles, which primarily provides support to nonprofit organizations in the areas of the environment, education, health and human services. In 2018 Davis was awarded the Vision of Hope Award by Chai Lifeline after capturing and documenting the brave journeys of children facing a range of health challenges. Davis work form this project will be exhibited at The Museum of Tolerance in July 2019.  In 2014, Davis was the recipient of the ETTA Visionary Award and continues his involvement and support of the organization, which provides programs and services that enable people with disabilities to live fully enriched, independent and active lives. In 2015, Davis produced a fine art body of portraits of the residents and clients of ETTA which was on display at the 2015 ETTA Gala and exhibited at the Museum of Tolerance.  With Smashbox, Davis has supported many national causes, including Covenant House, Habitat for Humanity and the Rainforest Foundation.
